Storm Damage Repair in Seminole

After hail or a hard wind, the worst damage often sits where nobody can spot it from the ground. We climb up, photograph what the storm left behind and repair it properly, so your roof reaches its full age instead of failing early.

What a Storm Does to a Roof

Most storm damage is quiet at first. Hail knocks the granules off shingles and leaves soft bruises. Wind lifts shingle tabs and breaks the seal strip underneath. Nothing drips that day. But a bruised or unsealed shingle ages fast, and a year or two later you have a leak that started with one spring storm.

That's why we treat storm repair as upkeep, not just patching. We fix the damage now so the rest of your roof can reach the age it was built for. Our crew brings over 20 years of combined roofing experience, and we've seen how a small miss after a storm becomes a big job later.

Sometimes the damage is spread too wide to repair well. When that's the case, we tell you plainly and talk through roof replacement. When it isn't, we fix what's broken and leave the rest alone.

What Our Storm Repair Covers

Every part of the roof checked

We go over shingles, ridge caps, flashing, vents, pipe boots and skylights. Soft metal dents before shingles do, so a dinged vent or gutter is an early clue.

A photo for each problem

Each damaged spot gets a picture and a short note on what it is. That way you're looking at the same thing we looked at.

Shingle and flashing work

Cracked, creased and missing shingles get replaced, and lifted ones get resealed. Flashing that's bent or torn is reset or swapped out so water stays on top of it.

Decking looked at where it matters

Where shingles blew away or the roof feels spongy, we check the wood below. Wet boards are replaced before any new shingles go down.

Gutters and downspouts

Hail dents gutters and wind can pull them off the fascia. We repair or replace the bad sections so water keeps draining away from your home. The gutters page has more on that service.

Insurance paperwork support

We walk you through how a claim typically goes and hand over the photos and written scope it calls for. The adjuster decides what's covered. We make sure nothing gets missed in the record.

Clues That a Storm Damaged Your Roof

Sandy granules by the downspouts
After hail, look at the splash blocks and the gutter outlets. A layer of coarse grit there means shingles shed part of their coating, and that coating is what protects them from the sun.
Pieces of shingle in the yard
Even one loose shingle in the grass means wind got under the roof edge. The neighbors of that shingle are often loose too.
Dents in soft metal nearby
Walk around and check the gutters, roof vents, AC unit and mailbox. If those took dents, your roof took the same beating.
New water spots inside
A brown ring on a ceiling or damp insulation in the attic means water is already coming in. Get it looked at before the drywall and insulation are ruined.
Lifted or bent shingle edges
From the yard you may see tabs standing up or folded with a crease. That fold shows where the seal broke loose.

From First Call to Final Cleanup

  1. 1

    Phone us about the storm

Let us know the date it came through and anything you've spotted since. We pick a time that works to come out.

  2. 2

    Roof walk and photos

We go over the roof and look in the attic when we can get to it. Afterward we review the pictures with you and point out what needs repair and what's fine as is.

  3. 3

    Written repair scope

You get the work listed item by item. If there's a claim, that document and the photos can go straight to your insurer.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We protect shrubs and the ground below the work, make the repairs and make sure the new shingles bond with the old ones. Most jobs wrap up in a day or less.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and final look

Old shingles get hauled off, and a magnet sweep picks up stray nails from the lawn and driveway. Then we walk you through what we did.

What Sets the Price of a Storm Repair

Every storm leaves its own pattern of damage, so we don't put a number on it until we've walked the roof. Before any work begins, you have the price in writing. With an insurance claim, your share depends on your policy terms, and we're glad to walk you through the paperwork.

Spread of the damage
A handful of lifted shingles on one side is quick work. Hail marks on every slope means a much bigger list.
Condition of the decking
Boards that soaked up water have to come out and be replaced. We can't know that until the shingles above them are off.
Finding a shingle match
Some older colors and styles are no longer made. Hunting down a close match can add time and material.
How steep and tall the roof is
A steep pitch or a second story means more fall protection and a slower pace on the roof. That shows up as labor.
Added parts
Bent vents, cracked pipe boots, torn flashing or dented gutters get added to the list. Each one is its own line, so you can see what you're paying for.

Questions About Storm Repairs

Do I contact my insurer first, or a roofer?
You can do it in either order. A lot of homeowners like having the roof checked first, so they know the damage is real before they file. Either way, you get our photos and a written repair scope.
Can you be there when the adjuster comes out?
If you want us there, we'll go up with the adjuster and show the spots we documented. Coverage is their decision, not ours, and we don't stand in as your adjuster. Our job is making sure the damage is easy to see and well recorded.
Nothing is dripping. Is it fine to hold off?
It's your call, but bruised shingles and broken seals break down more with each summer and each gusty day. A shingle that has come unsealed can tear loose in the next blow. Repairing it sooner costs less and keeps the rest of your roof from aging too fast.
Can you cover an open spot until the repair is done?
Yes. If shingles are missing or water is getting in, we can tarp the area to keep the weather out. Then we set the permanent repair once the materials arrive.
What licenses do you hold?
We carry an Oklahoma general contractor license and an Oklahoma commercial roofing license. If a storm damaged a business building, see our commercial roof repair page for that side of the work.
Will you come out past Seminole?
We do. We repair storm damage in Shawnee, Tecumseh, Wewoka, Holdenville and other nearby towns. Let us know where your home is when you phone.
